DIN 1.2714

AISI 1.2714 is a low-alloy, hot-work tool steel that is commonly used in various industrial applications. It is also known by other designations such as DIN 55NiCrMoV7, JIS SKT4, and ASTM L6.AISI 1.2714 steel exhibits good resistance to heat, making it suitable for high-temperature applications such as forging, die casting, and hot-work tooling.

This steel has good toughness and impact resistance, which is important for withstanding the mechanical stresses encountered in hot-working operations.

It has fair machinability, but the high nickel content in the steel can lead to reduced machinability compared to other tool steels.AISI 1.2714 can be oil quenched to achieve a hardness of approximately 54-58 HRC (Rockwell hardness scale), providing good strength and wear resistance.
