AISI H13
AISI H13 is a tool steel grade that is widely used in various industrial applications. It is known for its high toughness and excellent hot hardness, making it suitable for manufacturing tools and dies that need to withstand high temperatures and repeated thermal cycles. H13 steel exhibits good toughness, which helps prevent cracking or chipping under heavy impact or shock loading conditions. This property is essential for applications where the tool or die may experience sudden or cyclic loads.
AISI H13 is a chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy tool steel. Its composition typically includes around 0.35% to 0.45% carbon, 4.75% to 5.50% chromium, 1.10% to 1.75% molybdenum, 0.80% to 1.20% vanadium, and small amounts of other elements.
Applications
- Aluminium extrusion dies, backers, liners
- Hot shear blades
- Stamping dies
- Die casting dies
- Dummy blocks
- Mandrels
- Forging dies
